Big Manga Sale – $1 Each!

Come by and check out our great Japanese manga collection! Manga is very popular with teens; it’s Japanese for “cartoon” or “comic strip”. They are essentially Japanese graphic novels and will sell fast! Check the rating on the back cover to ensure that the book is appropriate for your child’s age group. All books are $1 each. Hurry before they’re all gone!

The Friends Bookstore is staffed by volunteers and may not always be open during advertised hours. For volunteer opportunities, please contact Carmen Bredeson at ctbkaty@aol.com. Donations of gently used books, CD’s and DVD’s can be dropped off at the Bookstore during the above hours.

 

Bookstore Mural

Paige Moore

During the summer of 2015, the Friends of Evelyn Meador commissioned Houston artist Paige Moore to design and paint a wall mural for the bookstore. The mural reflects the beautiful Galveston Bay coastline that is so dear to us and also captures the magic of books with the following quote:

“There is no frigate like a book to take us lands away.”
