Show your library some love – February is National Library Lover’s Month!
National Library Lover’s Month in February is dedicated to the people who love libraries. Libraries provide a place for us to discover great books and learn about history. They help us with homework, research papers, and science projects. They provide a quiet space to study and learn. But libraries do so much more:
- Libraries provide educational entertainment for preschoolers, like story time.
- Libraries provide communities for meeting space for celebrations, meetings, socials, fundraisers, and classes.
- Libraries provide resources for researching family and community history.
- Libraries lend other media like movies and music that can be enjoyed at home.
- Libraries offer digital resources, like our fabulous Maker Space, for the entire community to use.
- Libraries provide rotating art displays give local artists exposure to the community.
Here are a few ways that you can celebrate National Library Lover’s Month:
- Volunteer in the Friends Bookstore
- Join the Friends of Evelyn Meador Library
- Get a library card and explore Evelyn Meador Public Library
- Purchase Friends merchandise to support local library programs
- Introduce yourself to the fabulous library staff
- Give a shout-out to your favorite library or staff member on social media
- Create a list of books to check out from the library
You can also explore these 8 Unique Libraries in the United States.
