Come by and meet members of the Friends of Evelyn Meador on Saturday, November 5 from 11-5 at Celebration Seabrook! We will be sharing a booth with the Evelyn Meador Library next to the Gazebo on Main Street (formerly Second Street). Find out how you can support your wonderful library. Ruth Burke, resident Seabrook artist, has graciously donated these beautiful limited edition posters to the Friends of Evelyn Meador. Each print is signed and numbered. A beautiful gift for that Seabrook fan in your life! Posters are $50 each. Inquire in the Bookstore. Hurry in before they’re all gone!
Evelyn Meador celebrated Friends of the Library Week on October 17th by providing yummy refreshments and a signed poster to the Friends of Evelyn Meador Board. Thanks to our wonderful librarian, Milagros! It was very much enjoyed.
Come by and check out our great Japanese manga collection! Manga is very popular with teens; it’s Japanese for “cartoon” or “comic strip”. They are essentially Japanese graphic novels and will sell fast! Check the rating on the back cover to ensure that the book is appropriate for your child’s age group. All books are $1 each. Hurry before they’re all gone!

The Friends Bookstore is staffed by volunteers and may not always be open during advertised hours. For volunteer opportunities, please contact Carmen Bredeson at ctbkaty@aol.com. Donations of gently used books, CD’s and DVD’s can be dropped off at the Bookstore during the above hours.
We received a large donation of cookbooks recently. Cookbooks on the cart in the hallway are $2 each plus tax. For each cookbook purchased, you can place your name in a drawing for a $5 gift certificate for any items in our bookstore. Thank you for your continued support of our wonderful library!
During the summer of 2015, the Friends of Evelyn Meador commissioned Houston artist Paige Moore to design and paint a wall mural for the bookstore. The mural reflects the beautiful Galveston Bay coastline that is so dear to us and also captures the magic of books with the following quote:
“There is no frigate like a book to take us lands away.”

Friends Membership Information
The Friends of Evelyn Meador Library have pledged to work with Harris County and the City of Seabrook to make our new branch library a wonderful resource for our coastal community. Our fundraising campaign will help purchase upgraded furnishings and equipment that are aesthetically appealing and that will enhance the overall quality of the new library.
There are many levels of giving. As a 501(c)(3) organization, all donations are tax deductible and donors will be provided with receipts. Please help us build a state of the art library for the citizens of Seabrook and the surrounding area. Your gift will make a lasting contribution to this community!
